I'm Sal Erskine a garden designer based in Fowey, Cornwall UK. I work primarily on residential garden projects, large and small across the south west.
I enjoy working with clients, architects, builders and landscapers to create beautiful and functional outdoor spaces for living.
I trained at the Inchbald School of Garden Design, followed by the Oxford College of Garden Design. I have worked as a garden designer since 2014. Previous to that I worked for the Forestry Commission and National Trust for many years.
For an initial consultation about your garden project please send me an email.
My typical garden design process is outlined below.
Following an initial consultation, a client brief is captured along with survey information and architect drawings if relevant.
The concept of the scheme is then developed including a package of sketch plans, perspectives and mood boards.
Once the concept is approved, a masterplan is finalised. A drawing package of construction plans and details is then created, along with lighting and irrigation plans as required.
Combined with a specification document this package can be taken to professional landscapers for quotes.
A planting scheme consisting of plan and full plant list is prepared. Plants can be sourced from specialist nurseries.
In addition furniture, pots, sculpture and other features can be sourced.
If required project management of the build phase of the garden can be undertaken.
Going forward seasonal consultations can be arranged with clients and/or gardeners to ensure the garden evolves in line with the initial concept.
